Lesions and Spots

fading and removal of spots and lesions, plus firmer, tighter skin

From total facial rejuvenation which involves the reduction and removal of red and brown lesions with a general firming of the skin, to the removal of sun-spot damage, we will be happy to discuss what’s right for you during a consultation.

We provide Pulsed Dye Lasers as a means to fade brown or pigmented spots usually caused by sun exposure or tanning. All pigmented lesions contain the light-absorbing pigment melanin to a greater or lesser extent. Our Pulse Dye lasers deliver an intense but gentle burst of light into selective areas of the skin, targeting the pigment-bearing tissue but sparing surrounding skin.

The only requirement for this treatment is the desire to improve the condition of you skin!

Avoid the sun or tanning before and throughout treatment, and sunblock of SPF 30+ should be worn daily during this time. Your skin should be thoroughly cleaned and dried, removing any makeup, cream, oils, topical anesthetics, or self-tanning products before treatment.

Treatment takes place in our comfortable setting, and most patients are reclined or lying down. You will wear protective eyewear to guard you against the laser’s light. Our practitioner will use a small handpiece to guide the laser, and each laser pulse may be preceded/followed by a short pulse of cooling spray. With pigmented lesion treatments, the lasers will be calibrated and parameters will be set based on the specific, unique conditions of each patient to maximize results.

The treated area may become grey instantly, turning dark brown by that evening. Patients should avoid sun exposure before and after treatment, and should apply sunblock (SPF 30 or above) when going outdoors. In the first few days after treatment, don’t scrub or rinse the treated areas with abrasive skin cleansers, the dark spots treated will flake off in 5-7 days.
