Also, electrolysis can be tedious, time-consuming and uncomfortable. We provide the GentleLASE laser system to safely remove hair without damaging pores and structures of the skin. GentleLASE effectively treats unwanted hair with a revolutionary long-pulse alexandrite laser which emits a gentle beam of light into the targeted hair follicle. The laser energy is then transformed into heat, which effects the only the follicle and leaves your skin unaffected. before treatment

Avoid the sun 4 - 6 weeks before and after treatment. Patients scheduled for hair removal should avoid electrolysis, plucking or hair waxing for six weeks prior to treatment. If you have a history of perioral herpes and are scheduled for facial hair treatment, prophylactic antiviral therapy may be prescribed. If you have a dark skin type, a bleaching cream may be started 4 - 6 weeks before treatment to optimize results. Also, your skin should be thoroughly cleaned and dried, removing any makeup, cream, or oils on its surface before laser treatment. Laser hair removal is not for those who want to get rid of white or gray hair.

during the procedure

Treatment takes place in our comfortable setting. Patients wear safety eyewear to protect your eyes from the laser light during the procedure. Our practitioner will guide the laser with a small hand piece, and each laser pulse will be preceded/followed by a short pulse of cooling spray. Treatments can take as little as a few minutes to as long as an hour, depending on the area and condition being treated.

after treatment

The treated area may become pink or red within 30 minutes of treatment. This may last from a few hours to several days and is relieved with the application of ice or cooling gels. Patients should avoid sun exposure before and after treatment, and should apply sunblock (SPF 30 or above) when going outdoors. In the first few days after treatment, don't scrub or rinse the treated areas with abrasive skin cleansers.
